Thrifting Saturday: Styled

It's raining today and my house is trashed with all three kids and my husband home, so these pictures today are taken in our hallway of doors. If you ever come to my house, you may end up trying to pee in the garage or wash your clothes in the bathroom. It's confusing and distracting, so I'll do my best to crop these photos so you can focus on these fabulous clothes! (sorry about the cat door.)

p.s. I guess Photobucket is going to be vetoed soon because these photos are wonky unless you click on them. Must install Photoshop on this computer.

Husband Envy

i got this shirt because i'm envious of my husband's similar one. it's a little too long to be styled like this, though, i think, so the picture is not one of my faves.  leggings: Victoria's Secret, boots: Payless by Dexter

Denim & White

thrifted white shirt & denim skirt, Old Navy black infinity scarf
little dude had to be in the picture
this is my first time to do a denim skirt with tights and boots and i'm not sure i like the way it looks on me. definitely pair these two thrifted items separate next time. boots: gift

LBD made for me
this LBD was made for me. evidently my shoes were made for my daughter.
thrifted doctor bag & LBD, cute baby and hot wheels
tattooed momma in action. black kitten heels by Naturalizer

Wiggle shimmy shake
my favorite find of the day, this flowered wiggle dress
i adore the shirring on the sides, but you will never catch me wearing this as a dress.
this outfit my be my favorite of the day: Old Navy black cardigan, VS leggings, black suede wedge boots from Target (if this pic ever flips it'll be a freakin' miracle. until then, just turn your head sideways.)

the details in this shirt are just divine
i quite like this top with jeans. i cut off the strings that tied around back and love it 100x more. left untucked may require a belt and leggings.

Such a Follower.

If you haven't noticed, I've become quite obsessed with Polyvore to keep up with looking fashionable daily. Sometimes it's a challenge to put on nice clothes when you haven't had a shower and know you're not going anywhere that day, but it still makes me feel good to look good. Know what I mean?

I've also become quite an addict when it comes to Pinterest, having found tattoos and fashion and other really cool stuff. My friends posts stuff about rooms and furniture but until the kids are older, updating our house will have to wait and there's no WAY we're buying new furniture just so the kids can color on it.

I'm sure the obsession will die down, but if not, I'll still try to get some posts in here anyway. ;)

On the kid front -- The sibling rivalry seems to be over the bad hump and now S and C are best buddies. I can spend hours watching them play and never get bored. I pull out the video camera quite a bit. Stella walks around saying "Momma" about 80 times a day. She has a fever from her shots last week; the doc said it'd show up in a week or so since it was MMR. Still have to go back for two more shots since we stagger vaccinations. Four at a time is just too much to put in her little body. She had the pouty lip going all day... so cute and so pathetic. I fell over the dog today and hurt my foot and Cole was so sweet, saying "shhh, it's okay Mommy," and patting me. He can be the sweetest, most loving boy in the world. I adore my babies.

Coming Soon

My sweet mister loves taking pictures of me, so we pulled out the good Sony camera yesterday for some non-iPhone pictures. It's charged and ready to go.. all I need is the outfit to shoot.

It's hard getting dressed some days when you know you're just going to sit around be taking care of kids all day. Rarely do we get out of the house because right now it's cold in Texas, and it's never cold in Texas, so it scares me a bit. haha. You'd think I'd be less of a wuss since I grew up in Missouri, but after 9 years with awesome warm weather, the cold makes my bones shake.

Today I wore a navy sweater that used to belong to Kev until it was shrunk in the dryer (oops), long white and navy striped shirt underneath, skinny jeans and black motorcycle boots to our morning playdate. As I post this I have changed into black pajama pants that are now covered in baby food - squash, to be exact.

Highlights of our Day:
  • Stella knocked her head into the train table at Barnes & Noble, leaving a blue knot on her lower eyebrow bone. The nice Starbucks guy gave us ice and she actually sat still, so it must have hurt. That was the end of our playdate.
  • Hanging with Brit and Rach, two of my favorite tattooed mommas.
  • Buffalo chicken pizza my hubby brought home.
  • Cole peed at Barnes & Noble without freaking out about the automatic flushing toilets, hurray!
Have a lovely evening, whoever is reading this... Sweet dreams!

Much More than a Mom

So it occurred to me that I only write in this blog about my children, which is fine, but there is much more to me than being a momma.

My tattooed momma friends are always telling me how cute I look at our meetups - I admit, I love fashion. I love getting dressed in the morning. Sometimes I lay out a week's worth of outfits dreaming of wearing them, but alas, the good ol' vintage doesn't get pulled out much these days. My cute little babydoll dresses wouldn't look so adorable with food stains crusted on them.

These days my outfits are more kid-friendly and exist mainly of leggings, boots and a long shirt and cardigan. Leggings are something I thought I'd never wear in a million years, but they were so comfortable during my pregnancies that I bought some from Victoria's Secret in black and gray and wear them with practically everything. My favorite recent purchases are a black and white shift dress from H&M, a gray short-sleeved tunic cowl-neck sweater, and black knee-high boots from Target that zip up the side for a little edge.

Today I wore these boots and sweater to brunch with the girls and kiddos. I paired them with black leggings from VS.

In short, when there's nothing to post about my kiddos, you may see an outfit or two. I refuse to be that momma who looks like crap all the time, even if I don't get to shower every day. ;) (obviously, i need to improve my poses or my husband's camera angles.)
