365 Days: Closet Remix

For a while now I've been putting together outfits in my closet, but they get lost in the swampland that is my closet. Last week I decided to take advantage of my husband's sad empty rack and place my outfits front, top and center in the closet. Here's what I came up with.

I thought I'd show you a few of the outfits I put together. A few of them have been worn already, and the rest are waiting on me. Now I need to add more. :)

Holiday look: Pinstriped pants from Ross, shiny top from Vanity, and sequined cardi from Old Navy.

Simple black jumper dress with a black dolman sleeved top over it..

365: Black tunic with green boyfriend cardi.. worn with black leggings and boots!

365: Plaid H&M tunic paired with Old Navy striped cardigan, worn with grey leggings and black boots!

This is a short sundress from Abercrombie (swapped) and a GAP denim jacket (swapped).

Seriously cute dress from my friend Aubrey during her Peace Corps trip, paired with a denim jacket from Ross.

365: I love this green dress from Francesca's but I hate the way the top fits on me, so instead of this black cardigan, I ended up throwing on a lightweight black long-sleeved top from Old Navy with a ruffle detail around the neck and paired it with my black boots. Compliments galore!

I wanted to wear this white vintage sundress with this gorgeous suede blazer, but it just didn't look right with the boots I tried on, so I quickly changed out of it before Cole's teacher conference. I'll have to try it again with different shoes.

I'm waiting to wear this gorgeous Izod sweater and vintage dress... it's suddenly 90 degrees again here. :(

Another one I'm waiting on.. Bought this blazer from Etsy last fall and will pair it with a navy cardigan from Old Navy and jeans. Super cool casual look.

Oh how I love me some vintage. This jacket is from a thrift store (purple, cropped suede with great shoulders) paired with a vintage top gifted from my mother-in-law. I believe it's Gunne Sax.

Fall Photoshoot

Since I'm always on the other side of the camera taking pictures, I asked around to see if any of my friends would take some photos of my kiddos and myself... Low and behold, my Pirate Momma friend Remy's sister-in-law Sarah (did you get that?) is an up-and-coming excellent photographer for Sarah Gibson Photography. We went to an old bridge not too far from my house -- it must have been a great day for photos because the place was literally swarming with photographers shouting directions at families and high school seniors.

Anyway, here are the photos that Sarah took. I'm in love with them! If you're in the Denton area and want some great pictures for a very reasonable price, GO BOOK HER NOW.

But it's a Holiday!

Things have been very lazy around here the past few days, as my husband has been home and our routine is out the door. See, momma has a nice little way of doing things to keep both kids on track, but it all gets thrown off when daddy is home because he wants to do things like keep them awake and play with them. Gosh - the nerve.

Fair warning: This post will be full of pictures of adorable babies and family adventures. As in, LONG.

Last week we took a short trip to my hometown to have early Thanksgiving with my family. We stay with my mom at her place and visit my dad 40 minutes away.. It's always been like that, although is house is waaaaaay bigger and there's more space. Let's just say there's one reason we don't stay there while the kids are little... and it looks like this:

Beautiful, isn't it? My dad is one hell of a handyman. The stairs, though, are 8 feet wide at the bottom, which no baby gate in the world will fit. And this mom just can't handle the thought of either child bouncing down that flight of stairs. Waaahh! Interesting fact: my ex-fiance helped my dad work on this house. It's an old Victorian church built in 1900 that my dad bought, gutted, and turned into a gorgeous work of art.

The kids were so excited to see my mom (Nana) that when we arrived at 12:30 am, they were up until almost 6 with happy little energy bugs running through their veins. I passed out while Kevin took care of them, and took a 5-hour nap the next day, poor dad.

Nana was so happy with all her babies there.

On the way back to Texas we decided to make a stop over at the Blue Whale on Route 66 near Tulsa in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Just a few minutes off the highway, it was a cute roadside attraction. Stella was scared to walk on the dock of the whale and Cole loved the picnic tables shaped like fish. A few pics of our adventures:
